CT colonography can detect clinically significant colon polyps that require removal. Over the last 4 months, 200 patients have had a CT colonography at Nelson Radiology : 3 cancers and 11 large polyps were diagnosed. You have a greater risk of developing bowel cancer if you: • Are over 50 yrs of age, or have a history of colon polyps • Have blood in your stools, or bouts of constipation or diarrhoea that have lasted more than one week.
